My name is José M. Ozcariz Eizaguirre.
I was born in 1964 in San Sebastian, in northern Spain. I studied medicine
at the Basque Country University. After finishing my studies, I went
to England, where I lived and worked from 1990 to 1999.
Between 1991 and 1995 I worked at various hospitals, in different specialities:
general medicine, cardiology, geriatrics, general surgery, orthopaedics,
accident and emergency, gynaecology&obstetrics, paediatrics, etc.
In 1996 I finished my training as a GENERAL
PRACTITIONER. In Austria I am recognized as ARZT
FÜR ALLGEMEINMEDIZIN.
Between 1996 and 1999 I worked as a General Practitioner in different
surgeries in North and East London and simultaneously obtained the Diploma
in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene and the Diploma
in Family Planning.
I came to Vienna in December 1999. In order to familiarise myself with
the complexities of the Austrian Health Service I worked with two local
doctors and did several Locums.
In April 2001 I opened my surgery
in the Schwarzspanierstraße.
Since June 2005 I take part in a charity project called AMBER-MED,
which offers free medical consultations to persons, mainly migrants,
without medical insurance and/or legal documents.
In February 2007 I moved my surgery to the Weyringergasse
10, 1040 Vienna.
